What's left behind the scenes

  • The series was initially intended to be called 'Street Cats.' The title 'Charlie's Angels' was thought of by Kate Jackson after she saw a picture of angels in the office of producer Aaron Spelling (1923-2006).
  • Charlie's voice is heard in many episodes, but he himself is shown in only a couple of episodes, and even then, from an angle that keeps his face hidden.
  • It is claimed that during the filming of the first two seasons, the relationship between Kate Jackson and Cheryl Ladd was strained. According to Ladd herself, there were days when Jackson simply would not speak to her.
  • Jaclyn Smith, in the role of Kelly, is the only Angel to have appeared in all 115 episodes.
  • Kate Jackson was originally cast as Kelly, but at the actress's request, she was allowed to play Sabrina instead.
  • Kate Jackson became the only Angel to be nominated for an Emmy Award. The actress was nominated two years in a row, but never won the award.
  • John Forsyth (born John Lincoln Freund, 1918-2010) never once appeared on the set of the series. His lines were pre-recorded.
