What's left behind the scenes
- Matthew Rhys (who played Nile Jarvis) initially thought he was being offered the role played on screen by David Lyons, as he was not used to being offered lead roles.
- When filming first began, neither Claire Danes nor Matthew Rhys (who played Agatha Wiggs and Nile Jarvis, respectively) knew how it would end. They were given the script later—even though Danes served as an executive producer on the project.
- While preparing for the role, Matthew Rhys read extensively about psychopathy, specifically the works of Janet Malcolm and Jon Ronson, and joked that he had become a "psychopath" himself.
