What's left behind the scenes
- In the early stages of the project, director John Wells and actor Noah Wyle wanted to film a sequel to their highly successful project, 'ER' (1994-2009). Wyle would have returned to the role of Dr. John Carter. Unfortunately, they were unable to obtain permission from the rights holder (the heirs of writer and screenwriter Michael Crichton) to film a direct sequel, so the project's concept had to be modified in some way.
