What's left behind the scenes
- Owen Cooper was cast as Jamie immediately after his audition. The boy had practically no acting experience, having only attended a drama studio.
- Filming took place from July to September 2024, primarily in the town of South Kirby, West Yorkshire, UK. The school scenes were filmed at Minsthorpe Community College.
- In the third episode, Owen Cooper yawned unexpectedly, but his scene partner Erin Doherty didn't miss a beat and asked, "I'm sorry, am I boring you?"
