What's left behind the scenes

Originally, this project was planned as a prequel to the series 'Ray Donovan'. In February 2024, the streaming service Paramount+ published a simplified concept for the series, which was to be titled 'The Donovans'. The plot would have focused on Ray Donovan during his rise and the creation of his criminal enterprise. Guy Ritchie was to serve as director and executive producer. In October 2024, it became known that the spin-off idea had been abandoned, and the script was rewritten to create a standalone series with no connection to Ray Donovan.
Pierce Brosnan's Irish accent is reminiscent of the pronunciation of Jiminy Cricket, a comedian from the 1980s.
The titles of many episodes are borrowed from songs.
