What's left behind the scenes

Writer and producer Alan Alda (who was also the writer and director of the original 1981 film) appeared on screen in this project in a supporting role as Don in the second episode.
Each so-called season of the mini-series consists of 2 episodes.
Steve Carell and Tina Fey (who played Nick and Kate, respectively) played a married couple in Shawn Levy's romantic thriller 'Date Night' (2010). During the filming with Levy, they didn't grow particularly close (according to Fey, due to shyness); they only became friends on the set of this mini-series. As Carell put it, it took them only 15 years to become very dear friends.
