What's left behind the scenes
- When creating the sets for the White House service areas—which have never been photographed and where access for unauthorized personnel is strictly prohibited—the show's creators consulted with Hayley O'Connor, a former employee. In describing the basement complex, the quarters of the Chief Usher (the head of domestic staff), the staff and service staircases, and so on, she relied on her own memory.
- Halfway through the filming period, Andre Brauer, who played Winter, passed away. Giancarlo Esposito was cast in the role to replace him.
- The titles of the episodes (8 in total) are based on the names of famous detective films and literary works.
