- Jenna Ortega was considered for the role of Caroline, which ultimately went to Sarah Catherine Hook, and Shawn Mendes was considered for the role of Lucien (the part eventually went to Zach Burgess). JoJo Siwa was planned for the role of Cece, but the producers preferred the little-known actress Sarah Silva for the part.
