Short description

Pinky and Brain are genetically enhanced laboratory mice who reside in a cage in the Acme Labs research facility. Brain is self-centered and scheming; Pinky is good-natured but feebleminded. In each episode, Brain devises a new plan to take over the world, which ultimately ends in failure, usually due to Pinky's idiocy, the impossibility of Brain's plan, Brain's own arrogance, or just circumstances beyond their control.

What's left behind the scenes

At one time, a recording became widely circulated in which Orson Welles is heard cursing bluntly at a sound engineer. This recording served as the basis for an episode of the series in which Brian repeats Orson's remarks (cleaned up, of course), and the episode's title ("Yes, Always") was also borrowed from Welles.
Producer Peter Hutchings described the project as a '$250,000 joke about Orson Welles.' Brian himself became a reflection of Welles' image and frequently incorporated references to Welles' works into his pranks.
