What's left behind the scenes
- Many elements of the storyline mirror the life circumstances and real disappearance of Ethan Patz. His father was a creative person (like Vincent, played in the series by Benedict Cumberbatch). Ethan was one of the first missing children whose photo was placed on a milk carton; he disappeared in 1979, a date associated with the character in the series who vanished without a trace.
