What's left behind the scenes
- The special effects for the series were developed by Industrial Light & Magic, the company that created the effects for Steven Spielberg's sci-fi action film 'Jurassic Park' (1993) and Colin Trevorrow's 'Jurassic World' (2015). According to the project's scientific consultant, the models of some animals were copied from those featured in the franchise films, though they were slightly modified to look more prehistoric. Regardless, certain inaccuracies remained; for example, in the appearance of the dunkleosteus (the largest marine predator of the Devonian period, living 415-360 million years ago; research conducted in 2003 showed that its body was shorter and more massive than the one shown to viewers).
