What's left behind the scenes

A full-scale mockup of a passenger Airbus A330 with a fully functional cockpit was built for filming.
For some scenes, the livery of a plane that previously flew for Qatar Airways was changed to that of the fictional British airline, Kingdom Airlines.
Following the tragedy of September 11, 2001, the doors leading to the aircraft cockpit were significantly reinforced; however, it is incorrect to believe that pilots are unable to open the cockpit door from the inside during flight. On nearly all flights, pilots and crew are permitted to leave the cockpit to use the restroom, allow flight attendants inside with food and drinks, or switch shifts to rest. Additionally, they may open the door if it is necessary to locate the cause of a failure in flight control surfaces, avionics, or flight control system instruments located outside the cockpit.
There are special signals that pilots send to ground controllers in the event of an aircraft hijacking.
