Short description

What's left behind the scenes

The process of applying the Penguin's makeup had much in common with Robert Pattinson's makeup for the role of Batman in Matt Reeves' 2022 film; however, the television series format presented certain challenges. Colin Farrell spent long hours in the makeup chair throughout the entire filming period, which lasted over 80 days. In turn, the makeup team eventually managed to reduce the time required for makeup before the start of each shooting day to 2.5 hours.
Colin Farrell strongly wanted his portrayal of the Penguin in Matt Reeves' action film "The Batman" (2022) to smoke tobacco, but his suggestion was not heeded. In the series, his character smokes tobacco occasionally but prefers cigars.
