Short description
In the 1850s, Captain Charles Boone relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

What's left behind the scenes
- Despite plans to renew the series for a second season, it was canceled after the conclusion of the first season.
- The series was filmed in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Mick Garris also filmed the television movie Bag of Bones (2011), based on Stephen King's 1998 novel of the same name, there, and Frank Darabont filmed The Mist in 2007, based on King's 1980 novella. Additionally, in 2020, Brannon Braga filmed Books of Blood there, based on Clive Barker's series of short stories.
