Short description
In the 1950s, Elizabeth Zott's dream of being a scientist is challenged by a society that says women belong in the domestic sphere. She accepts a job on a TV cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives way more than recipes.

What's left behind the scenes
- When Elizabeth's hands, played by Brie Larson, are shown in close-up, they are actually the hands of Los Angeles consultant and chef Courtney McBroom. All the dishes that the actress supposedly prepares in the plot were actually made by her.
- Work on the series was interrupted due to Brie Larson's filming schedule for the action movie Fast X (Louis Leterrier, 2023) and the adventure action film The Marvels (Nia DaCosta, 2023), and resumed in July 2022.
- The character of Elizabeth is a loose interpretation of the chemist Rosalind Franklin in her early years. Like Franklin, Elizabeth faced pervasive sexism, was not taken seriously, and had her DNA research stolen, with all the credit going to the thieves.
