What's left behind the scenes
- One of the final roles of Diana Rigg, who passed away on September 10, 2020. From the start of the second season, Mrs. Pumphrey was played by Patricia Hodge instead of Rigg.
- Changes to the legislation governing the use of animals on television were introduced in 2019, prohibiting them from undergoing any medical procedures that they do not actually require. While filming scenes in which veterinarians examine cows and sheep before giving birth, the film crew had to use prosthetic animal body parts.
