What's left behind the scenes
- Podcast star Sinda Canning, played by Tina Fey, surrounds herself with assistants who look like her and have similar names. One of them, an assistant named Cindy, is played by Ann Stringfellow, Steve Martin's wife, whose physical resemblance to Tina Fey has been a subject of press comments since 2007, when she married Martin. Fey herself has frequently joked about it.
- In most scenes with James Caverly, Nathan Lane uses sign language because Caverly is actually deaf. Lane had only six weeks to learn sign language.
- James Caverly, who plays Theo, is actually deaf.
- The interior of the Arconia was filmed at Silvercup Studios in New York, and the decor of each apartment reflects the personality of the character living in it. Silvercup Studios offered the most extensive facilities for this.
