Pradip Kurbah is a three-time National Award-winning filmmaker from Meghalaya, India, celebrated for his deeply human and culturally rich storytelling in the Khasi language. His work captures the soul of Northeast India while resonating with audiences worldwide. His film Iewduh (Market) premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival and won the Kim Jiseok Award, marking a milestone for Indian regional cinema on the global stage. His most recent film, Ha Lyngkha Bneng (The Elysian Field), had its world premiere at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival, where it won Best Film (Golden Saint George), Best Director, and the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film, making it one of the most awarded Indian films at the festival. Known for his poetic visual style and emotionally layered narratives, Pradip continues to shape the voice of independent Indian cinema from the Northeast, building bridges between cultures through film.
