What's left behind the scenes

  • "The Siege" caused a loud public outcry from the Arab population of America and was accompanied by a series of protests. Arabs strongly opposed being used as the "image of the enemy."
  • Bruce Willis was invited to the Pentagon and given a brief training course on briefings and meetings that his character, General Devereaux, would attend both in principle and in the event of a serious international situation.
  • This was one of the few films before which the first trailer for George Lucas's science fiction action film "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" (1999) was shown in cinemas for promotional purposes. It was reported that many fans of the "Star Wars" franchise bought tickets for this film only to watch the trailer and did not stay for the film itself.
