Short description
Failed London banker Max Skinner inherits his uncle's vineyard in Provence, where he spent many childhood holidays. Upon his arrival, he meets a woman from California who tells Max she is his long-lost cousin and that the property is hers.

- The film is based on Peter Mayle's novel "A Good Year" (2004).
- Director Ridley Scott developed the main elements of the plot, and then writer Peter Mayle based a book on them, intended to serve as the basis for the film. When the book was published, it turned out that the author's vision differed significantly from Ridley Scott's original ideas, and as a result, the director preferred to film the story as he had initially envisioned it.
