Short description
9-year-old Alex Pruitt is home alone with the chicken pox. Turns out, due to a mix-up among nefarious spies, Alex was given a toy car concealing a top-secret microchip. Now Alex must fend off the spies as they try to break into his house to get it back.

- More than a hundred boys auditioned for the role of Alex Pruitt. Alex Linz won the role, even beating out a star like Elijah Wood. Previously, Wood auditioned for the role of Sammy Parker in "One Fine Day" (1996), and Linz landed that role as well.
- Unlike the first two parts, as well as the fourth, this installment takes place after Christmas.
- At an early stage of development, the film was planned as a pilot for a television series.
