• Once, Terry Gilliam asked the legendary animator Bob Godfrey (1921-2013) if he could help with the animated inserts for the film, and Godfrey, who didn't know who Gilliam was, told him to get lost. Only later did Godfrey learn that Gilliam was a member of the comedy group 'Monty Python,' and he fulfilled his request.
• The phrase used as the film's title was repeatedly used when transitioning from one sketch to another in the television series 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' (1969-1974).
