Short description
While in his teens, Donny fathered a son, Todd, and raised him as a single parent up until Todd's 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd's world comes crashing down when Donny resurfaces just before Todd's wedding.

- Rex Ryan plays an episodic role as a fan of the Patriots. In real life, he is the head coach of the New York Jets, who are the main competitors of the Patriots.
- Eva Amurri plays the "younger version" of her real mother, Susan Sarandon.
- In the school flashback scene (in 1984), a teenage Donnie is shown carrying a lunchbox with "ALF" written on it, although the series did not premiere until 1986.
- When Todd and Donnie visit Mary in prison, her orange jumpsuit changes: first buttoned up, then unbuttoned, and then buttoned up again, until she unbuttons it herself.
- Despite being single, Donnie has a visible tan line from a wedding ring on his finger. This is most noticeable during hugs after the bachelor party.
