The surname of the main character, Kil, sounds similar to the English word "kill" as pronounced by Koreans – "khil".
Jeon Do-yeon agreed to work with director and screenwriter Byeon Seong-hyeon when he didn’t yet have a script, so the role was written specifically for her. The actress had long wanted to participate in a project unlike her previous works.
Director Byeon Seong-hyeon visited actress Jeon Do-yeon's home, observed her interacting with her daughter, and recorded some of their lines.
Lead actress Jeon Do-yeon trained extensively to perform the fight choreography herself, with a minimum of stunt doubles.
Filming took place from December 15, 2021, to May 24, 2022.
The director and screenwriter Pyun Sung-hyun's previous film, 'The Gray Cardinal,' was very grounded, so in this work he sought to create a comic book atmosphere.
