Set 261 years before the events of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring", The War of the Rohirrim tells the story of Helm Hammerhand, a legendary King of Rohan who must defend against an army of Dunlendings. He becomes the namesake for the stronghold of Helm's Deep.
What's left behind the scenes
- The following method was used to create the traditional two-dimensional animation: each scene in the film was acted out by actors (using motion capture technology), then everything was translated into three-dimensional animation; and then again – into two-dimensional animation.
- The project used archival recordings of Christopher Lee delivering lines in the films of the 'Hobbit' trilogy (Peter Jackson, 2012-2014).
