Short description
While under heavily armed guard, the dangerous convicts aboard a cargo ship unite in a coordinated escape attempt that soon escalates into a bloody, all-out riot. But as the fugitives continue their brutal campaign of terror, they soon discover that not even the most vicious among them is safe from the horror they unknowingly unleashed from the darkness below deck.

- Filming took place on a real ship and on sets.
- 2.5 tons of artificial blood were used during filming.
- All the violent scenes were carefully rehearsed before filming and then shot using artificial blood. If a take was unsuccessful, the entire film crew, including the actors, cleaned up the bloodstains to restore the set to its original condition.
- The idea for the film came to director Kim Hong-sun while reading about experiments conducted by the Japanese on prisoners during World War II.
- The release version for the Russian market is 115 minutes long and omits a scene of sex between two men.
- The original title of the film translates to 'Hunt for Wolves'.
