What's left behind the scenes

The story of Osso, Mastrosso, and Carcagnosso is based on an urban legend that remains popular in Italy. The original legend speaks of three brothers who lived in Spain in the 15th century and were exiled for killing a man who assaulted their sister's honor. The brothers landed on the island of Favignana near Sicily and eventually founded three of the largest criminal organizations in Italy, still known as the 'Cosa Nostra', 'Ndrangheta', and 'Camorra'.
