Short description

American ballet dancer Joy Womack is accepted into Moscow's infamously tough Bolshoi Ballet Academy, with the dream of becoming a great ballerina.

What's left behind the scenes

The plot is based on the real story of Joy Womack, the first American to graduate from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.
Talia Ryder, who played the main character, is a professional ballerina; during the filming of some scenes, she was replaced by Joy Womack herself, who also served as Ryder's choreographer.
