Short description

Markus returns home to care for his daughter when his wife dies in a tragic train accident. However, when a survivor of the wreck surfaces and claims foul play, Markus suspects his wife was murdered and embarks on a mission to find those responsible.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Mads Mikkelsen grew his beard over two months and gained more than 6 kilograms.
  • Mads Mikkelsen actually tried to break a mirror in the bathroom with his head. The idea was his own, and he convinced the director and insurance inspectors to let him try. The stunt coordinator applied a special film to the mirror to prevent the glass from injuring the actor, however, there was a concrete wall directly behind the mirror. Mikkelsen later said that he hoped to manage this scene in four takes, but gave up after the second and started hitting the mirror with his fist. He hit it a couple of times, and then switched to looking for other objects to hit with all his might.

The stunt coordinator personally applied a special film to the mirror to prevent the glass from shattering into pieces and injuring the actor, however, there was a concrete wall directly behind the mirror. Mikkelsen later recounted that he hoped to manage this scene in four takes, but gave up after the second and started punching the mirror. He landed only a couple of blows on it, and then switched to searching for other objects he could hit with all his might.
