Nebraska cop Kathryn Bolkovac discovers a deadly sex trafficking ring while serving as a U.N. peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia. Risking her own life to save the lives of others, she uncovers an international conspiracy that is determined to stop her, no matter the cost.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film is set in post-war Bosnia, but filming took place in other locations. Moreover, none of the actors playing Bosnians knew the language. They all spoke Romanian.
- The rape scene involving the fictional character Raya had to be made less explicit and violent, as one audience member felt unwell during a preview screening in Toronto.
