Short description

Following a childhood tragedy, Dewey Cox follows a long and winding road to music stardom. Dewey perseveres through changing musical styles, an addiction to nearly every drug known and bouts of uncontrollable rage.

What's left behind the scenes

  • When developing Dewey Cox's performance style, John C. Reilly observed the mannerisms of Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Brian Wilson, and Bob Dylan, and was also inspired by the performances of Jamie Foxx and Joaquin Phoenix, who previously played Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, respectively.
