Short description

A truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregon wilderness must visit Portland to find the mysterious person who stole his beloved foraging pig.

The film's budget was so small that the filmmakers simply couldn't afford to hire a trained pig.
According to director Michael Sarnoski, the pig was only trained for three days, so it repeatedly charged at Nicolas Cage and bit him. After one particularly painful bite, the actor joked that during filming he had to be burned and get into car accidents, but it seemed he was destined to die from an infection after the pig bite.
Due to financial constraints, the filmmakers were unable to hire a trained pig.
According to director Michael Sarnoski, he only had 20 days to shoot the film, so the actors had to try to perform well on the first take.
Distributors found the film too long and cut almost an hour out of it.
