Short description

Margot is a documentary filmmaker looking to meet her long-lost mother and extended family in a secluded Amish community. She and her film crew soon realize the family that welcomes them into their home might be hiding a sinister secret.

Initially, the film was intended for theatrical release, but Paramount Pictures management changed its mind due to the coronavirus pandemic and decided to release the film exclusively on the streaming service Paramount+, making William Eubank's film the only installment in the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise that did not play in theaters.
Jason Blum, the producer of this film and all elements of the franchise without exception, reacted very negatively to the film and showed no interest in working on further sequels.
For the first time in the entire franchise, the filmmakers used not only the 'found footage' style in certain moments.
