Short description
Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau is dead. At least that is what the world—and Charles Dreyfus—believe when a dead body is discovered in Clouseau's car after being shot off the road. Naturally, Clouseau knows differently and, taking advantage of not being alive, sets out to discover why an attempt was made on his life.

- This film is officially considered the last in which Peter Sellers played Inspector Clouseau, as the film 'Trail of the Pink Panther' (1982) consisted of cut episodes and scenes not included in previous installments.
- During filming in Hong Kong, a police officer saw Bert Kwouk (1930-2016) stealing a scooter, chased after him, and arrested him. It took several hours to convince the officer that it was all part of the plot.
- This film is officially considered the last in which Peter Sellers played Inspector Clouseau, as "The Trail of the Pink Panther" (1982) consisted of excised episodes and scenes that were not included in previous installments.
