Short description
Two small-town singers chase their pop star dreams at a global music competition, where high stakes, scheming rivals and onstage mishaps test their bond.

- At the beginning of the film, during the scenes set in 1974, Lars's father (Pierce Brosnan) and his friends are drinking bottled beer in front of the TV. In Iceland, beer was banned until March 1, 1989 (which is now celebrated as Beer Day), meaning that Lars's father was involved in smuggling.
- Although Pierce Brosnan and Will Ferrell play father and son, there is only a 14-year age difference between them.
