Short description
A small-town Oregon teacher and her brother, the local sheriff, discover a young student is harbouring a dangerous secret that could have frightening consequences.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film features a Wendigo, an evil spirit in Native American mythology.
- The plumes of steam emanating from the Wendigo’s breath were created using plastic tubing leading to its nose. According to special effects creator Shane Mahan, it was hot steam, not smoke. The steam temperature was around 300 degrees Fahrenheit, causing the plastic tubing to periodically soften, requiring breaks to allow it to cool and re-harden.
- The language spoken at the beginning is Ojibwe, a language of Canadian Indigenous people.
- The film was shot in the same locations as "First Blood."
