Short description

Year 1763. Forced into exile, the famous libertine Giacomo Casanova leaves Paris and travels to London, where he meets Marianne de Charpillon, a young prostitute to whom he is so attracted that he forgets about the other women.

What's left behind the scenes

As soon as Vincent Lindon learned that director Benoît Jacquot intended to film a movie about Casanova, he expressed a desire to play this character. Initially, the latter did not see him as Casanova: firstly, the actor is French, and secondly, of a robust build and with a stern appearance, while the Casanova type was not like that. But the actor's incredible desire convinced the director.
