Television made him famous, but his biggest hits happened off screen. Television producer by day, CIA assassin by night, Chuck Barris was recruited by the CIA at the height of his TV career and trained to become a covert operative. Or so Barris said.

- In his directorial debut, George Clooney made two references to his aunt, actress and singer Rosemary Clooney. On the seventh minute, during a tour of the NBC studio, the guide mentions that her favorite show is “The Lux Show” featuring Rosemary Clooney, and the closing credits roll to her song “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”
- Realizing he had forgotten to rent the crane necessary for filming a key scene, director George Clooney ordered the lock to be cut from the building of a vault adjacent to the studio in Florida where filming was taking place, and 'borrowed' the necessary equipment from the crew of another film. When this became known and the director of that film raised a fuss, threatening to call the police, Clooney sent him a check for $20,000 with a note stating that this amount should be enough to pay for a short-term crane rental and to compensate for the expenses incurred on the previous film of that director, which turned out to be a failure.
