- Actor Michael Caine plays a former intelligence officer named Harry. This was an attempt to create a sequel to the Harry Palmer trilogy, the character from director Sidney J. Furie’s film “The Ipcress File” (1965), which Caine also starred in. However, the rights to use the character were not acquired, so the main character’s surname had to be changed.
