Short description
A young woman and her fiancé are in search of the perfect starter home. After following a mysterious real estate agent to a new housing development, the couple finds themselves trapped in a maze of identical houses and forced to raise an otherworldly child.
What's left behind the scenes
- According to Lorcan Finnegan, he was inspired to create the film by the paintings of Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte. Another source of inspiration was the BBC documentary series “Life of Birds.” The director was particularly struck by the sight of cuckoo birds laying their eggs in other birds’ nests.
- A vivarium is a building or separate room within a medical and biological institution (research institute, laboratory) designed to house laboratory animals used in experimental work or the educational process.
- The correct translation of the film’s title is “Vivarium.”
