Short description
Based on the best-selling book, Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days, and told through the eyes of Jackson's trusted bodyguards, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard. The movie will reveal firsthand the devotion Michael Jackson had to his children, and the hidden drama that took place during the last two years of his life.
What's left behind the scenes
- Michael Jackson's estate (1958-2009) did not grant permission to use his songs, video recordings, etc., in the film, so there are no songs performed by him in the film. Nevertheless, the composition “Beat It” is mentioned once in the dialogue. The so-called “moonwalk” is shown performed by ordinary people in a scene where Jackson in a helmet walks down the street.
- Comforting the children, Michael sings them “Smile,” a song written by Charles Chaplin (1889-1977) and set to an instrumental theme from the film “Modern Times” (1936). He wrote his own cover version for his ninth studio album, “HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book 1” (1995).
