Short description

France, 1809. Captain Neuville is called to the front, leaving his future bride heartbroken. Her sister decides to write letters on his behalf to cheer her up.

The original title of the film translates to "The Return of the Hero".
Filming took place in Uzès, the Hauts-de-France region, and the French commune of Nandy.
To create the film, director Laurent Tirard drew inspiration from the work of Victor Hugo and from the 1939 film "Drums Along the Mohawk," directed by John Ford.
