Short description

A movie spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life legend about the mysterious, 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party... while he was still alive.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is partially based on the story of Felix Brezill, who staged his own funeral in 1938 in the state of Tennessee, USA.
  • When Felix is asked how he managed to live alone for 40 years, he replies that "The hardest part was only the first 38 years." This phrase is uttered at the 39th minute of the film.
