Short description

A playwright encounters a mysterious woman when he takes shelter in a chalet during a violent snowstorm and becomes obsessed with her.

What's left behind the scenes

Filming took place in Paris, Lyon, and Annecy. Several scenes were shot in the Imperial Palace, located on the shores of Lake Annecy, which is now a four-star hotel.
James Hadley Chase's novel "Eve" had already been adapted for the screen by director Joseph Losey. He made the film "Eve" (1962) starring Jeanne Moreau in the lead role.
Before "Eve," Benoît Jacquot directed five films with Isabelle Huppert: "The Lacemaker" (1981), "School of Flesh" (1998), "Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train" (1999), "False Servant" (2000), and "Villa Amalia" (2009).
