What's left behind the scenes

  • The school film club displays posters for films such as "The Hills Have Eyes" (2006), "Halloween II" (2009), "The Green Mile" (1999), "The Thing" (1982), "Vertigo" (2009), "Brazil" (1985), and a poster for the fictional horror film "Stab".

  • Filming took place in the vicinity of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
  • Actress Lake Bell, who was reportedly set to play Sheriff Judy Hicks – a former classmate of Sidney – left the project due to a busy filming schedule.
  • The police officers in the car guarding Sidney's house mention the plot of the film "Se7en" (1995) in their conversation, quote "The Green Mile" (1999), and repeat Randy's rule from the first "Scream" film, warning against saying "I'll be right back".
  • One of the officers guarding Sydney's house is named Anthony Perkins, just like the actor who played Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's film "Psycho" (1960).
