Short description
In the prehistoric past, Keda, a young and inexperienced hunter, struggles to return home after being separated from his tribe when bison hunting goes awry. On his way back he will find an unexpected ally.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film was shot in the Canadian province of Alberta, specifically on the territory of Dinosaur Provincial Park, where the remains of more than 500 dinosaurs have been found.
- Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. However, the Greek language itself arose approximately 3400 years ago, and the alphabet around the 9th-8th centuries BC. The film takes place 20,000 years ago, when the word 'alpha' simply did not exist.
- The primitive language spoken by the characters was invented specifically for the film.
- The filmmakers do not state that “no animals were harmed during the making of the film,” due to a scene depicting the killing and skinning of four bison. Nevertheless, the animals were killed humanely by specially trained personnel from Longview Beef Jerky.
