What's left behind the scenes
- The film's script was developed over several years, and filming took 80 days, taking place in Minsk, Kirovsk, and Moscow – on the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theatre.
- More than 500 costumes and 70 professional ballet dancers were involved in the film's production.
- The dance sequences were staged by choreographer Oleg Glushkov, who previously worked with Todorovsky on "Stilyagi" and the series "The Thaw".
- Costume designer Alexander Osipov collaborated with Valery Todorovsky on "Country of the Deaf" and "The Lover".
- The initial version of the film lasted three hours. The director subsequently re-edited the film, reducing its length by a third.
- Filming of "Big" took place at "Belarusfilm". The Academy of Choreography, where the main action of the film unfolds, was completely reconstructed in the film studio's pavilions. The shooting process in Belarus took a record-breaking short time – about 20 days.
- Costume designer Alexander Osipov worked with Valery Todorovsky on "The Silent Ones" and "The Lover".
