What's left behind the scenes
- As the screenwriter and director Maren Ade stated, one of the sources of inspiration in creating the image of Winfried Konradi with his peculiar humor was showman and revue artist Andy Kaufman (1949-1984).
- The film received extremely positive feedback at the 69th Cannes International Film Festival, but did not win any awards in the main competition.
- 120 hours of footage were shot during the 56 days of filming.
- It took director Maren Ade more than a year to edit the film. During that time, she had a second child.
- The website Vulture.com, specializing in pop culture events, named the party in the film the "nude party of the year."
