Short description

In 1930s France, two sisters who are thought to be able to communicate with ghosts meet a visionary producer while performing in Paris.

What's left behind the scenes

The world premiere of the film took place at the Venice Film Festival.
To prepare for the role, Natalie Portman studied French intensively.
This is Natalie Portman's first film since “Léon” (1994) by Luc Besson, in which she worked with a French director.
The character of the producer is based on Bernard Nathan, a French producer of Jewish origin and one of the most significant figures in the French film industry of the 1920s and 1930s, who perished in Auschwitz.
Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Melody Depp play sisters, with Natalie being 34 years old and Lily-Rose being 16.
