Short description

The mysterious disappearance of a kindergarten teacher during a picnic in the north of Iran is followed by a series of misadventures for her fellow travelers.

What's left behind the scenes

According to director and screenwriter Asghar Farhadi, the film was excluded from at least one festival program in Japan because Iran is depicted in it in a way that is quite different from how most foreigners, especially those from Western countries, perceive it.
Iran officially submitted the film for the 2009 Academy Award in the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category.
